The James McBey Collection
Aberdeen Art Gallery houses the world's most comprehensive collection of works by James McBey (1883-1959), one of Scotland's finest printmakers and watercolorists. Born in Aberdeenshire, McBey achieved international recognition for his etchings and watercolors depicting landscapes, architecture, and daily life across continents.
His wartime work as an official war artist produced powerful images of the Middle Eastern campaigns.
