- Allow a minimum of three hours for a proper visit — two hours is enough to walk through the main streetscapes and see the vehicle collection, but the detail in the interiors rewards slower exploration and you will miss things if you rush.
- The vehicle collection of over 50 restored vehicles is one of the finest of its type in the south of England — if you have any interest in automotive or transport history, plan to spend significant time with the vehicles.
- Visit on a weekday for a much quieter experience — weekends and school holidays bring larger crowds, particularly of families with children, and the intimate period shop interiors feel more atmospheric with fewer people in them.
