The Teign Heritage Centre is a dedicated local history museum celebrating the rich and varied story of Teignmouth and the Teign estuary in south Devon. Established in 1978 and run by a dedicated team of local volunteers, the centre holds an important collection of objects, photographs, documents, and oral history recordings that illuminate the history of this distinctive coastal and riverside community.
Teignmouth is one of Devon's most characterful seaside towns, with a history shaped by its dual identity as both a port town serving the Teign estuary and a seaside resort that flourished in the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
