Ragged School Museum

The Ragged School Museum brings Victorian education and East End life vividly to life. Housed in canalside warehouses that once formed the largest 'ragged school' in London, the museum tells the story of Dr Barnardo's work with destitute children.

Visitors can sit in a recreated Victorian classroom and experience a lesson, explore a Victorian kitchen, and learn about the harsh realities of life for London's poorest children.
